Sorry I’ve been pretty quiet the last month! I’ve been swamped with the upcoming move to Maryland. TWENTY DAYS! That’s all we have left here. I can’t believe it. I’m sad, but excited. I can’t wait to check out my new home and meet lots of new people!

Anyone who knows me will tell you, the sea holds my heart. Perhaps this is genetic, as the open water held my father in a powerful spell as well. I don’t know how to explain it, other than no matter what might be happening, if I have the ocean nearby – all is well in my world. One of my favorite quotes:

The cure for anything is saltwater – sweat, tears, or the sea. – Isak Dinesen

For me, these are the truest words ever spoken. The sea grounds me, takes away the hurt, makes me whole. I love the call of the surf – its gentle whisper in your ear, beckoning you near. Many times in my life, I’ve confided in her, trusted her with my heart, and looked to her for comfort.

Each time my work takes me to the shore, my heart feels twice as full. Two of the things I love the most: the ocean and photography, colliding and joining forces. Perfection.

When Sara approached me about having part of her session at the beach, with a warm and toasty campfire and s’mores, how could I say no? Dreams do come true. And by the way, this is an awesome date night idea.

You’re probably noticing the shift in my watermarking. I apologize if it is distracting. I am trying to keep it minimal. This one is just a work in progress and definitely not permanent. However, given the current state of things where photos are being stolen by other so-called photographers ALL THE TIME, I felt it was necessary to protect myself and more importantly, PROTECT MY CLIENTS.
